How do I find my direction?

Orientation means asking yourself what you would like to do later on, what job you would like to do and in what form, what studies you would like to do to get there and in what country or town…

Orientation means choosing a path for life after high school. It’s an evolving process, one that each student must undertake and build on step by step, starting in lower secondary school and more surely in upper secondary school, as they get to know themselves better, identifying their tastes, talents, skills, strengths and weaknesses…

It was with this in mind that the Avenir pathway was designed, enabling students from sixth form to the final year of secondary school, accompanied by their parents, to gradually build up real career guidance skills throughout their secondary education.

Although this is an individual process, students are not on their own and can count on the LFAY team for support and advice: the headmistress and deputy headmistress, the head teachers, the teachers responsible for specialised courses, the librarian, the CPE and the PRIO (Information and Guidance Resource Staff). External speakers also contribute to the guidance activities organised by the school: careers fair, Campus France speaker, etc.

Supporting students in their choice of orientation means preparing them to make educational choices and giving them the reference points and tools they need to adapt to changes in the world of work and find their place according to their talents and aspirations. It also means combating self-censorship and developing academic ambition.
